About the Artist

Watercolour is my favourite medium, as it enables me to capture the delicate colours in the subtle backgrounds and flowers. I use Gouache to paint the fine details on the butterflies.

I try to find those magical moments that can be found in nature, that only appear fleetingly with the right light and atmospheric conditions.

Living and working in Cheshire, I have access to the beautiful countryside of Shropshire, Wales and Cheshire. This is where I find most of my ideas and images for my paintings.

I have never had any formal training and I am largely self taught with occasional attendance at demonstrations and workshops.

I am a member of local art groups and exhibit my work regularly in local and national exhibitions. My work hangs in private collections in London and Spain. - see events page.

I am a member of Butterfly Conservation and as well as painting butterflies I also paint nature e.g. birds, small mammals, insects and amphibians.  Visit my other website at www.naturecornerpaintings.co.uk for further details.

I am always willing to consider special commissions, please telephone to discuss your ideas on 01829 250939.
